framing a classification question and choosing a target;
train/test splits and leakage;
k-nearest-neighbor and decision-tree models;
cross-validation and basic model comparison;
interpreting failure cases instead of reporting accuracy alone.
The course unit asks you to connect model evaluation to the scientific question the labels are intended to answer.
